Hello,

Just wanted to mention to the list the availability of a new paper on the
data compression schemes used by the Virgil compiler. If you go to my
homepage, it is CASES 2007 paper. It is also linked from the Virgil
website on the publications page.

A lot of work has gone into getting the benchmarks up and going and a lot
of experiments have been done, so tuning can go into the right spots.
Right now, it looks like some tuning and robustifying needs to go into the
inliner heuristics and there should be an optimization phase to remove
redundant safety checks.

The driver kit is better these days, too. We are getting close to having a
working CC1000 radio driver for the mica2.
