UCLA K-12 Outreach



Announcing the launch of UCLA's K-12 Outreach webpage! Visit us at

There is a diverse range of programs and services with UCLA affiliation
offered to K-12 students, parents and educators. Now there is a central
location where the Los Angeles community can go to learn about all that UCLA
has to offer the K-12 population.

UCLA Athletics

Football Spring Game



Saturday - April 23rd - 5pm

Catch a sneak preview of the UCLA Football team at the Spring Game on campus
at Drake Stadium! Admission is FREE and after the game, fans can ŒMeet the
Bruins¹ at an autograph session. The first 1,000 AAA members who show their
card will also receive a free UCLA T-shirt.  For more information on the

Lady Bruins Football 101

Prior to the Football Spring Game, Coach Rick Neuheisel is hosting a Lady
Bruins Football 101 Clinic. Learn the basics of football and participate in
an on-field demonstration with the UCLA Head Coach! Registration is $25 and

Bruin Run/Walk

Mattel's Children's Hospital UCLA



The 12th annual Run/Walk Event to benefit Mattel Children¹s Hospital UCLA¹s
Child Life/Child Development program will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2011
on Wilson Plaza.  Opening ceremonies begin at 8:00A and the run/walk will
begin at 8:30am.  The event will include celebrity hosts, entertainment, a
silent auction, children¹s activities and wellness booths.  All faculty and
staff are invited to attend.  Strollers and pets are welcome!  For more

2011 UCLA/United Way Campaign



Since 1968, Bruins have helped to provide pathways out of poverty for their
fellow Angelenos by contributing millions of dollars to United Way. Last
year alone, UCLA staff and faculty contributed more than $199,000 to the
campaign. 



>From April 25 through May 6, faculty and staff will once again have the
opportunity to participate in UCLA¹s annual campaign to benefit United Way
of Greater Los Angeles.



Please help support this year¹s campaign and donate a one-time gift or
initiate a payroll deduction. Remember ‹ each one of us can make a
difference.

The Counseling Center (CAPS)



The Counseling Center (CAPS) invites you to attend the training programs
that we are hosting during this spring quarter 2011 for staff and faculty.
CAPS is determined to not only assist students with enhancing their overall
health and wellness, but also making sure staff is well trained in how to
deal with students who might be suffering from emotional issues.  We hope
you are able to join us for these workshops and take the opportunity to
educate yourself and be more equipped to deal with students that are
experiencing academic and/or personal issues.  We look forward to meeting
you!

Date: Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Time: 2 hours/ 1:00pm-3:00pm

Location: John Wooden Center West- CAPS Large Conference Room (1402)

 

Discussion will include:

*Helping staff and faculty to proactively identify distress of various types
(anxiety, depression, mania, psychosis, alcohol and drug abuse, suicidality,
dangerousness to others)

*How to respond to distressing students, consulting with and referring
students to The Counseling Center (Counseling and Psychological Services)
and/or the Consultation & Response Team

Showcasing the city's rich creativity and diversity in the community,
Westwood LIVE brings together music, art, theater, shopping, and dining.
Located in Westwood Villgage, shops, bars restaurants and more will provide
guests with live performances by resident musicians and artists along with
special happy hour offers, discounts and screenings.



Happening every third Thursday of the month, Westwood LIVE gathers fine
artists, performers and entertainers to create an event treasured by
visitors and locals alike.
