E3 Earth Day
Celebrate Earth Week with UCLA students! Student group E3 (Ecology,
Economy, Equity) will be hosting a garden work party at UCLA's community
organic garden on Sunday, May 3 from 4 to 6pm. The garden is located on
the upper level of Sunset Canyon Recreation Center on the UCLA campus.
They need hands to weed, put in soil and reinforce beds. Activities
other than gardening include making solar cookers and eco-friendly
household cleaning products. All ages are welcome and all tools and
materials are provided! No need to RSVP. For more information please

Faculty Diversity & Development would like to invite you to attend a
Faculty & Staff Information Open House about the Au Pair in America

Vintage Theme Dances
UCLA Staff & Faculty are invited to participate at Vintage Theme Dances
at the UCLA Powell College Library. Learn social and vintage ballroom
dance. Saturdays 8 p.m.-Midnight at UCLA Powell College Library 2nd
Floor Rotunda. Saturday May 2 Hollywood Movie Magic Ball (5th Annual).
Learn a variety of fun dance styles inspired by American musical theater
and film. Special guest speaker will be Miles Kreuger, founder and
president of the Institute of the American Musical Inc. presenting rare
home movies from the Ray Knight Collection featuring NY Theater Shows
1930-1960. Saturday May 30 Jane Austen Ball (12th Annual) Special
Guest, Mr. John Hertz teaching English Waltz & Set dances from

100 Garden Challenge
The Westside Permaculture "Permies" organization is hosting an event on
May 16 & 17 called the "100 Garden Challenge". Their goal is to install
at least 100 edible landscapes, fruit trees, or even water wise gardens
in the Los Angeles area over that weekend. They are seeking volunteers
to offer their own garden spaces, help plant gardens, provide plant
starts, plus a variety of other opportunities. For more information,
