It is my great pleasure to invite you to a very special 
event being held in recognition of some of the 
outstanding women athletes of UCLA, Strong Women & Big 
Sports, one of many events being held during the 5th 
Annual UCLA Women 4 Change Week.  Mark your calendar!

When: Thursday, May 13, 2004, 11:00am-2:00pm
Where: Los Angeles Tennis Center Clubhouse

Strong Women & Big Sports will highlight the 
extraordinary women athletes of UCLA past and present.  
Helen Carroll, an acclaimed National Championship 
Basketball Coach from the University of North 
Carolina-Asheville, will serve as emcee.  Helen is 
currently an Athletic Diversity Specialist, and has been 
a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) 
Athletic Director for 12 years.

The program includes a panel discussion on hot topics in 
women's athletics today.  In addition to Helen, the panel
participants will include our special guests of honor: 
Ann Meyers-Drysdale (basketball) and Tania Fischer 
(distance runner) representing alumni; Bristyn Davis 
(soccer), Emily Feher (water polo), Valerie Flores 
(cross country), Lauren Heineck (water polo), Sara 
Lombardo (soccer), Noelle Quinn (basketball), Kim 
Scarborough (swimming & diving), and Lis Willis 
(basketball).  The program will conclude with a salute to
each of our honorees.

I hope that you can join us, if not for the entire 
program, for at least a part of it (agenda at the end of 
this email).  Your support will mean a lot to the 
honorees.  Pass the invitation along and bring your
