Of course Klingenschmitt does not speak for all Christians, many of
whom favor separation of church and state.
And of course separation of church and state does not carry a single
meaning that all agree upon, any more than all Christians agree on
abortion or gay rights.
I think Ms. Harris goes too far in her desire to make the US a
thocracy with leaders selected by God and legislation which does not
take into account the pluralism of our population. Legislators should
recognize their obligation as members of national assembly of the
whole polyglot country.
This is not a legal requirement for office, of course.
We can and do elect ideologues of all stripes.
