<< Fortunately, I suspect that most people don't take the Boy Scouts all that
seriously anymore, and their taking their homophobia to the Supreme Court
will further discredit them in the eyes of people like me, but I presume
there are communities in which membership in the BSA still certifies one as a
proper young man.>>
I am glad that the list manager did not censor Professor Levinson's use of
the honorific "homophobia." Of course, it is not an accurate label, because
the Scouts do not FEAR MANKIND, but the misbegotten word has fallen into
general use.
I propose a better term to describe the views of folks who find the public
promotion of homosexual activity indecent: heterophiliacs.
Also, I propose the term "isogenderphiliac" to describe persons who engage in
homosexual activity. Blatant homosexual advocates who combine an open
derision for fundamentalist and evangelical Christianity with their cause
advocacy I have always simply referred to as "Christophobes."
