Quote of the week

In response to Sandy's comments about my quote of the week, I am tempted to
say that it is not my style to use my sig quote to make any particular point
or another. But, of course, that wouldn't be true.
I assign Sandy's seminal article on The Embarrassing Second Amendment to my
Constitutional Law students each year, and this year, as I was reading the
article to prepare for class, that particular sentence of Sandy's just
jumped out at me. I chuckled for a moment ("the Professor doth protest too
much, methinks" came to mind) and decided to adopt the line as my sig
quote.
I am a great admirer of Sandy's work; I have told my son, who is probably
heading for law school in a couple of years, that Texas would be a great
place to learn Constitutional Law (what with Sandy and Doug Laycock both
teaching there). One of the things I most appreciate about this list is I
get to have colleagues like Sandy to learn from (and occasionally laugh
with).
Warmest regards to Sandy and all of you who make this list so special, Rick
Duncan
