Evidence of discrimination against gays

Among other things, Andrew wrote the following:
"I pride myself on being the most extreme supporter of equality for gays on
this
list, but this is not an issue where I'm out to humiliate the other side.
(Not
that humiliating one's enemies is always inappropriate; I think that Slobodan
Milocevic ought to get a bit more of that medicine.) I think that Rick Duncan
is gravely mistaken about a serious moral matter, but he's not vicious or
evil. I don't think that he deserves to be made a pariah for his views, and I
don't think that such measures are necessary in order to achieve a society in
which gay people suffer no serious disadvantage because of their sexual
orientation."

Andew was taking part in my discussion with Michael with this post and I
hope that he wasn't implying that I think Rick is either "vicious" or
"evil," or that he should be made a "pariah." I too think Rick is quite
wrong on this question but I applaud his willingness to participate in the
debate so openly and, obviously, there is nothing personal at stake here.
