If no +ACI-reputable+ACI- religions (whatever that means) engage in race
discrimination, then why is the Coalition, which is filled to the gills with
mainstream religions, not willing to exempt the race discrimination laws
from RLPA? Far from having a reckless disregard for the truth, I am
genuinely confused by the position being taken by this complex organization.
How does one square the fact that the Coalition has pledged not to permit
+ACo-any+ACo- exceptions (including all laws covering anti-discrimination) and
Doug's nuanced interpretation of Marc's comments? Is the Coalition
suggesting that it is pushing for legislation that it will then try to limit
in the courts? Forgive me, but I just don't get it. Perhaps Marc can
explain this.
