<< Second, the complaint does allege that the plaintiff was "required" to
perform religious music and to perform in concerts at churches. >>

The ACLJ is not alone in asserting that the Supreme Court has said that the
Bible can be used in curricula related to literature and history; there is
dicta to that effect in Stone v. Graham and in the prayer cases. The Bauchman
case prompts this question: suppose a school includes an allegorical tale
from the scripture or a parable, as an illustration of a particular mode of
writing or the like. How will the school test to determine whether or not the
student has acquired the necessary facility with the information. Can the
school give an objecting student a flunking grade on a test or a course for
failing to have read and learned content from the Bible?
