This is clearly unwarranted inference from the story, even as described in the
original post.

I'm sure Dartmouth religion department teaches Christianity.  I'm sure there is
at least one and probably several Christian student organizations.  I'm sure
that there are Christian meetings which are advertized through campus mail.  And
so on.

Though I do not share the paranoia reflected in the quoted statement, I do share
the position that if Dartmouth was restricting distribution of the book in this
way, it probably should not do so as a matter of policy.
