What effect?

The Southern Baptist Convention is America's largest Protestant "SECT"? That
is an obvious error. I hesitate to identify myself as a "southern baptist",
but even with my reservations about my own religious background, I think the
term "sect" is a totally unjustified. While the SBC has found itself farther
and farther from the "mainstream" of social and political life, it does not
claim any special revelation of its own and therefore cannot be called a
"sect." Even if the definition of that term varies, I can not see how it
could possibly apply.

By the way, does anyone know if the SBC convention is being "covered" by any
reliable resource on the Net?
