In light of our recent thread, I just read that the Rev. Jesse Jackson
was arrested for blocking the entrance to some business that he felt
was not doing the right thing. I look forward to his contribution to
Part III of the First Things Symposium on The End of Democracy.

I am also reminded that in the days before Jackson became a member of
the National Democratic Party Powers-that-be, he was a devout
pro-lifer who denounced abortion as racial genocide. Jesse, we hardly
knew ye!

"The shocking untold truth of our time is that more Christians have
died this century simply for being Christians than in the first
nineteen centuries after the birth of Christ. They have been
persecuted and martyred before an unknowing, indifferent world and a
largely silent Christian community."
