        Aping the notorious rhetoric from a predecessor and apparent role
model, Governor Fob James stated yesterday:

                "The other 66 counties in this state should give no thought
to [Judge DeMent's] order because it does not apply to them, and I see
nothing but confusion out of too many politicians who have tried to alter
this issue or wish it would go away.  This issue is not going to go away
today, tomorrow, forever."

                Divisive diction of this nature might interest some members
of the list who were comparing and/or contrasting the creation of
segregationist academies to the creation of religious academies.
