The secular curriculum

I agree with Rick Duncan that "released time" does not fix the problem of a
public school curriculum that inculcates a "secular view of the world." I
also agree that the curriculum largely ignores religious ways of seeing the
world. The problem may be addressed by including more study of religions
across the curriculum. I don't mean "mentioning" religion more... I mean
taking religion seriously by including study of religious ways of
interpreting history, literature, economics etc. Although challenging, this
is what public schools should be doing if they wish to be fair and neutral
concerning religion, and if they aim to provide a liberal education. Given
the lack of time in the curriculum, and given the dominance of secular
catagories in the various disciplines, should religious studies be required
in order to at least approximate fairness?
