Rick's Storytelling

I found Rick's post quite telling -- he reminds those of us who tend to
agree with  much of Jack's epistemology AND his politics (and enjoy but
resist Alan's) that story-telling is itself part of a "nested opposition" [thus,
so-called science is part of our repertoire, too].  Yes, Rick, we are often
guilty of using one side of the nest for one purpose and the other for the
other -- and you share in that same sort of switching --
and that's why I think the even more persuasive direction in which to
point is to conversation.    In conversation, all these modes are relevant,
and none sufficient unto itself.
