Gentlemen
As a newcomer, permit me to greet each one of you cordially
from Brazil.
I want to be useful, listen, be respectful and avoid taking
up too much of your time.
The fact that my opinions will come sort of "from the
outside" may make them an interesting and colorful comparison with the
way we here would respond to the matters being dialogued .
Ours is a wonderful country too, but you would be surprised
by the elementary alphabetizing problems and consquences we are facing.
When I notice you dialoging about parental freedom of speech, schools,
etc, I cannot help thinking about the thousands of parents here who
insted of leaving their chidren in the morning in school, need to make
their chidren work so that there is enough to eat. Why? Because most of
them do not know how to read and write either...
I lived a few years in L.A. and sincerely enjoyed your ways
of living and thinking. My son is an M.D. in Miami today.
Also, whenever you should have emmergency messages to
Brazil, please permit me to be of service. I am a member of "Caremail",
the Internet christian group whose sole aim is to relay emmergency
messages, particularly for the disposessed, the sick, the lost, the ones
who are unable to own a computer. Should you need to send an emmergency
message for someone to another contry, try
              http://salmon.psy.plym.ac.uk/caremail/rescue.html
From what I read about "Parental's Speech Rights", from
opinions like those of Ed Darrel or Robert Hotz, I am sincerely happy
that such a high-level dialogue-group may permit me to participate in my
modest way. (I am a young man of 70 ... )
                               Respecfully
                           love at atribuna.com.br
