FUNDING FOR FACILITIES RENOVATION AND REPAIR
Funding is available, to non-profit agencies under contract with the CDE to
provide center-based child care and development services, to support the
repair and the renovation of facilities used to serve state-subsidized
families. This funding is limited to primary CDE/CDD child care and
development program contractors; subcontractors are not eligible to apply.
Grant amounts vary. Applications are due June 17. For more information,

FUNDING FOR AMERICAN INDIAN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
The California Department of Education (CDE) announced funding for the
American Indian Early Childhood Education Program, which is designed to
develop and test educational models that increase competence in reading,
language arts, mathematics, and self-esteem for American Indian children in
pre-K through 4th grade. Local educational agencies involved with a school
district serving 10 percent or more American Indian students at a school
site may apply for a grant. Applicants previously funded under this program
are eligible to re-apply. Grants range from $50,000 to $100,000.
