Are you a science, math, or engineering major? Do you like working with
young people? Are you considering a career in teaching?
Take coursework to explore a career as a K-12 science or math teacher while
you complete your bachelor's degree in science, math, or engineering!
Winter Quarter 2007 Field Experience and Seminar Courses (2 units, P/NP):
Tuesdays 4:00-5:30pm
Math 71SL - Classroom Practices in Elementary School Math
Life Science 71SL - Classroom Practices in Elementary School Science
*Work with local teachers and explore what it means to teach and learn in
elementary and middle school classrooms.
*Students work a minimum of 30 hours in a local school classroom during the
quarter and attend a 90min seminar one day a week.
Prerequisite: You must be making normal progress towards a degree in math or
science.
Enrollment: By program consent via an application process. The application

Applications are still being accepted on a space available basis. Upon
acceptance, students will be provided a PTE number for enrollment.
