Dental School Interview Seminar Part II


Happy 6th week! We are happy to announce that Dr. Francesco Chiappelli will
be present to speak to you all about the dental school interviewing process
from an interviewer perspective.  Dr. Chiappelli is a professor at the
School of Dentistry at UCLA and our current club advisor.  He currently
serves as a member of the Admissions Committee for UCLA and will offer you
GREAT interviewing advice and tips.  Please take advantage of this
opportunity to ask all your questions about the interviewing process or just
applying to dental school in general!  As our club advisor, he is very
committed to helping you all become successful candidates for dental schools
so do not miss this opportunity to meet him!

If you have specific questions and feel shy about asking them in front of
everyone, please feel free to email those questions to us.  We will compile
a list of questions for Dr. Chiappelli to go over during the meeting.
Please email us these questions no later than Monday evening.

Refreshments will be served at this meeting!  As always, our meetings are
held on Tuesday at 6pm in Kinsey 1240 (across Franz Hall).

We have several dental community service opportunities coming up.  
Please attend the meeting to sign up.

For those who still need an application and have not paid their membership,
you can do so at the beginning of this week's meeting.  The membership fee
is $15 and will apply for the whole academic year. Chris
(Treasurer) and PDSOP officers will be available from 5:30-5:50pm before our
Week 4 meeting to process your applications.  You can also submit your
applications at the end of the meeting.

Reminder:  You need a minimum of 4 meetings per quarter to be considered an
active member and to be included on our official club members' roster.
There will be 3 more meetings left this quarter (including the one this
week).

General Announcements

1. Help the Children's Dental Center assemble toothbrush packets!  We need
about 3-4 volunteers for each of the following days THIS WEEK: 
Tuesday 10-12pm, and Wednesday 1-3pm.  Please email Josephine and Kimmie at
pdsopcomm.service at gmail.com if you would like to volunteer.

2. Bagel Sale: This Wednesday! We still need a volunteer from 10-11am. 
Please email us if you can help out!  Everyone else who has signed up will
receive a confirmation email shortly.

3. Kaplan Course Books for SALE. Everything is brand new (i.e. no
highlights, still packaged). For sale for $300 (negotiable).  Please email
shibkova at ucla.edu if interested.
