The Slavic Department has just added a writing course to its summer 2006
offerings.  Russian 90BW has now been scheduled for Session A on MWF from
1:00P to 3:15P in DODD 154 with Professor Kristin Vitalich.  Take advantage
of this opportunity to fulfill your Writing II Requirement.

Short course description:

This Writing II course will cover the period 1917-1991 in Soviet history.
Students will reflect on the Soviet Union as a civilization, looking at some
fascinating examples of official and unofficial culture produced during the
period in question and the relationships of these texts to their historical
contexts. Examples will be drawn from a variety of disciplines including
literature, film, music and architecture.
