The New UCLA Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association Presents:

"An Introduction to Osteopathic Medicine"
Tuesday, January 24th 6-8pm at the UCLA Career Center
Dr. Jared Salvo D.O., a graduate of UCLA and Western University College of
Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, is currently a practicing cardiologist
and will be speaking on the rewarding profession of Osteopathic Medicine.

In contrast to allopathic medicine, osteopathic medicine practices medicine
from a more holistic point of view, and from the beginning of medical
school, osteopathic doctors are taught to view the patient as a whole rather
than a collection of individual body parts. Both M.D.s and D.O.s have full
practice rights in the United States, and both require four years of medical
school plus additional years of residency, depending on the specialty. Most
Osteopathic Doctors become family physicians, although there are D.O.s in
any specialty. For more information, visit www.osteopathic.org
