In the USA, if one accepts Medicare patients, there are legal restrictions on the variation in prices you can charge as a minimum and maximum so one can expect that the variations more than 10%. At Louisville we have the same fee schedule for all patients of CBCT, but charge differently for small FOV (less than one arch), a single jaw, and two arches. There are some augmented fees for special services such as full gnathologic workups. All technical services also are bundled with a report, though reports may also be made for a professional fee for images exposed elsewhere. Professional fees are also charged according to single (including small FOV) or both jaws.

I am taking a small straw poll:

When patients in your Faculty, College or School of Dentistry require a cone beam CT examination, do these patients receive this service for a market fee, a reduced school fee, or do they receive the service for free.  The reason I am asking is that recently, I am being asked to provide this service to our Faculty's patient population for free.
