Dear Colleagues,

Some time ago I posted the list with a request with regards to a
phantom head (natural human skull embedded in tissue equivalent
matter) for CBCT (Promax 3D) technique teaching etc.
At that time some colleagues asked me to post the list with the
results of my search.
The phantom which came closest (indeed it was the only one) to
satisfying the requirements was that produced by 'The Phantom
Laboratory, Incorporated'
  The model Number is SK150 which cost UBC dentistry 5,371.00 Dollars.
It is described as a head phantom (with upper cervical vertebra). It
is available in 'teeth together' and 'teeth apart' versions. It is
embedded in black Rando-like tissue equivalent rubber.
I selected 'teeth together. '
The phantom has been in use for 4 months and meets the requirements
fully.
I should advice the ORD Group that as many of the skull's own teeth
had been lost and had been replaced by other teeth. The roots of
these teeth had been cut to fit into the the empty sockets. Although
this has no impact on the use of this phantom at UBC Dentistry, I
felt those who are interested in this Phantom should know about this.
'The Phantom Laboratory, Incorporated' is found at PO Box 511, Salem,
New York 12865; email: info at phantomlab.com; Web:  www.phantomlab.com;
Phone: 800 525 1190 or 518 692 1190; Fax: 518 692 3329;

If you like to know more about UBC dentistry's experience with this
phantom, please write directly to my email so as not to disturb the
ORDG list further.

Kind regards,
David
