[Oradlist] "scarce trabeculae" of the jaw in panoramic

I agree with Dr Abramovitch.
I also regard the density and bone architecture as is presented in this low-resolution jpg is within the borders of normal variation.
If in doubt with regards to the lamina dura I would also recommend starting with supplementing intraoral radiographs before initiating an extended medical investigation.
Best wishes

I am sorry for not making my point very clear the first time around. Even though the resolution is not optimal, the lamina dura around the dentition can be resolved for the most part. Hence, I would not suggest that an endocrinopathy is present based on this radiograph. The decreased trabecular density may be related to density saturation so another type of image may be more helpful to evaluate a "sparse" trabecular pattern. Decreased trabeculation is within the normal panoramic presentation in the area in question.
Thank you for sharing this case.

The image is a photo of the radiography.
I am sending now two photos, left and right side. In point of view, no more details.
I suggested parathyroid gland function evaluation. If I have a feedback I will write with the final diagnosis.
Thanks for all replies. It is very important to me see other opinions from people with different experiences. I believe that with these discussions, all enjoy something.
Best regards.

On the image of this case that I can upload, the resolution is far from optimal. But I can make out lamina dura around the mandibular dentition. I never feel comfortable evaluating endocrinopathy from the basis of a panoramic radiograph. I agree with Professor Urzua that the density in this case is within the range of bilateral image density for the mandible on panoramic radiographs.

Dear Allan,
There is an absence of Lamina Dura and other normal radiographic lines.
We have had several cases in Sydney of such radiographs related to either
Kidney disease or Hypoparathyroidism which produces an increased density of the bone and loss of trabecullation.
Regards.

Hello All,
The panoramic radiography attached is an asymptomatic 17y-o girl.
We can see a "scarce trabeculae" of the jaw. It would just be a normal variation or may suggest a hormonal and/or calcium/phosphate imbalance.
Thanks in advanced.
