[Oradlist] PSP Plate artifact

Heidi,

I have not seen anything like this, but the first impression I get is that it might be a superimposed plastic bead, the density of which does not contrast against soft tissue, but is contrasted against the tooth structure. Could the patient have been wearing something plastic in a pierced lip or nose when the radiograph was made?

Kevin.

Subject: [Oradlist] PSP Plate artifact

Hi Everybody,

I was wondering if anyone has seen an artifact similar to the one displayed on the mesial of the right maxillary lateral incisor and distal of the central incisor that looks like composite resins, and has an idea of what caused it. We are using the ScanX plates and scanners.

Thanks!

Heidi
