I am very concerned that an OMFR interpreting cephalometric radiographs
specifically for spinal pathology would be "practicing medicine without a
license". I have had to explain this to colleagues attempting to refer patients to
me for the express purpose of evaluating regions outside the jaws. While it
is obviously imperative that we diagnose regions outside of the area of
dental interest that may be included in our examination, I do not believe it is
appropriate or legally advisable to perform or interpret radiographs taken for
medical (or chiropractic) purposes.
