In my response to Dania, when I used the term "to remain respectable", I
am referring to the OMR discipline and not to any individual. My
apologies if there were any misunderstandings.

Dania,
I think that anyone with an opinion can generate "spin" on this
question. However, if the request for the image was not based on a
disease related to the scope of dentistry, then it is not acceptable OMR
practice to routinely interpret such images. On the other hand, if an
occasional consult was requested because of a finding that may be
related to "dental" disease, then it is quite acceptable to render a
consult.
I'm sure there are others that may disagree, but to remain respectable,
this is the guideline that I would follow.

Hello everyone,
I am hoping for a quick show of hands as to how many OMFRs:
a) would consider reading cephs for a chiropractor (ie thorough
evaluation of the entire cervical spine and part of the upper thoracic
spine).
b) have had such training incorporated into their practice.
Also, would this fall into the scope of practice of an OMFR?
These questions have arisen from a request by a chiropractor to
interpret films for him. Although I feel confident of my knowledge of
this area of the body, I'm not sure how it all plays out in the grand
scheme (across dental/chiropractor boards lines).
Dania
