[Oradlist] YEHR images with CBCT

Dear Kenny: One especial expert in the field is Jan Casselman who spoke
on the middle ear at the recent ICHNR Congress in Budapest. Hans-Goran
Grondahl also included CBCT of cochlear implants in his presentation at
the same meeting (using Accu-i-tomo). Further the iCAT is also
distributed for ENT purposes with alternative software to that for
maxillofacial imaging. It would appear to be feasible from a system
point of view; however, like anything else, expertise and experience
play a role in quality of interpretation. Best wishes, Allan

Hi Dr Abramovitch,

Studies were done with the Accuitomo in Japan several years ago, using
the
original II/CCD system. I have no images from the newer FPD system
yet.

Subject: [Oradlist] YEHR images with CBCT

Dear ORADLISTERS,

I have a somewhat nebulous question that I pose for a
colleague/faculty
member here in Houston.

Do any of you that use CBCT have any knowledge of imaging mid ear bone
implants?

There is a YEHR mid ear prosthesis made of hydroxyapatite that
replaces
either one or all of the midear bones malleus, stapes, and incus. Are
or
can they be imaged with CBCT???

If you have any information, you may respond to my personal e-mail
address.

Many thanks (in advance).
