Axel:
We just went through accreditation last week and I will cite from our
Standards of Care as to Periodontology, Oral Surgery, Implants and
Radiology.
For Periodotology:
Clinical and radiographic examinations will be used to formulate a
periodontal diagnosis and develope an individual comprehensive , sequenced
treatment plan.
For Oral Surgery and Implants:
Both have the same terminology.
General patient care, diagnosis and treatment planning, radiographic,
infection control, and record keeping standards as those documented in the
Policies and Procedure Manual of the Dental Care Center.
For Radiology:
We use the Guidelines for prescribing radiographs (FDA publication
#88-8273).
We had no trouble with the above language. You want to keep everything in
writing simple; one can always offer an explanation when you meet face to
face with the accreditation panel.
Hope this helps.
