[Oradlist] more cone beam CT information

A colleague in Malaysia, Phrabha Nambiar, has asked me a question about
cone-beam CT. Here is his question:

"I have now been offered money to acquire the cone-beam CT for my faculty here.
There are three models being imported into
Malaysia-Accuitomo, Mercuray by Hitachi and I/Cat. I am not going for
Accuitomo because the field of view in small and not adequately useful in a
dental faculty. That leaves me with I/Cat and Mercuray. I wonder if you know
which is the better machine amongst the two. I/Cat is less expensive than
Mercuray but the pixel size is larger with the Mercuray(I was informed this
by the supplier-is this true?). Any comments?  I would appreciate any advice
from you for this purchase."

I am afraid I cannot answer his questions with any authority, as we in the UK
are increasingly 'behind the times' with this technology (no money!), Can
anyone out there give him the information he requires? Please reply directly to
