[Oradlist] X-ray machine information

Machine number 1 is definitely a Ritter. It was the only machine available
at the time where the x-ray tube was mounted external to the rest of the
tubehead, so you could remove just the tube and examine or replace it if
needed. The x-ray tube was unusually large and heavy-duty for a dental
machine.

Machine number 2 was another one I also used to work on. It is a "XRM"
(X=Ray Manufacturing Company) machine that was a precursor to the SS White
machines.

Both of these machines were among the first to have completely separate
electrical circuits to pre-heat the filament, ensuring more accurate and
consistent exposure times. I can supply you with additional information on
either machine if you'd like - I used to work on them extensively in the
field.

Ernie

Machine 1 looks like a Ritter. I do not have any idea about the other.
And, these are not very Very old. There are "dental" units that go back
almost to the very first, before Coolidge tubes. Those are very Very
old. These are old only from your perspective. Ones like the one I think
is a Ritter were still in use in the 1960s. (Of course for you that may
be old :-) )

I assume that the one Tom Schiff identified as a Victor was the second
image. Tom, is that correct?

Hello everyone,

Attached are two images of very, VERY, old intra-oral x-ray machines
that I
received recently. The sender would like to know if anyone has any
ideas as
to make or manufacturer. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

-Ernie.
