Holiday greetings!
The ICRP has posted draft recommendations in preparation for a new
report to replace Publication 60. There are numerous changes.
Among the most notable are new expanded tissue weighting factors,
which include salivary glands and brain. They are:
Bone marrow, breast, colon, lung, stomach--0.12 each
Bladder, esophagus, gonads, liver, thyroid--0.05 each
Bone surface, brain, kidneys, salivary glands, skin--0.01 each
Remainder--0.10
The remainder will be the average of doses to adipose tissue,
adrenals, connective tissue, extrathoracic airways, gall bladder,
heart, lymph nodes, muscle, pancreas, prostate, small intestine,
thymus, and uterus/cervix.
Details at <www.icrp.org>
Deadline for comments is 12/31/04.
