Specialty recognition

Congratulations, Julian!

This would be a good time to remind OMRs across the country that you are individually responsible to deal with your own state board of dental examiners to have OMR recognized in your state. Recognition by the ADA does not always automatically mean individual states recognize our specialty (in some it may, depending on the language of the state's dental practice act). During the specialty recognition process, it was most interesting to see that not all ADA-recognized specialties are recognized in every state.

Subject: Specialty recognition

Tennessee code relating to the practice of dentistry has undergone
comprehensive rewrite, incuding OMR in the list of specialties.
Tennessee licenses by specialty. The new version has passed the
legislature and been signed into law by the governor.
Now I can call myself an Oral and Maxillofacial
Radiologist--FINALLY!
