AAOMR in Portland

Dear ORADLIST members of AAOMR,

We live in the "Land of the free, and the home of the brave!!", and by golly the Academy meeting is going on as scheduled in Portland!  Portland is ready to welcome you!

Just a few notes as you are preparing to come to our beautiful city:

1.  In case you haven't seen this on your local news, be sure to pack your scissors, pocket knives, razors, nail files, fingernail clippers, etc. in your checked baggage.

2.  Kevin's nice desciption of Portland in the Summer issue of the AAOMR Newsletter gave info on transportation from the airport to the hotel (taxi, Gray Line Shuttle, rental car).
UPDATE: the Gray Line Shuttle has a one-way fare of $15 or a NEW round trip fare of $20 (pay the driver, no reservations).
Also, just open this month (if you don't mind lugging your luggage around a bit) is the MAX light rail airport spur called MAX REDLINE for $1.55 each way (purchase ticket at a machine) - you would get off at the Pioneer Courthouse Square stop and walk 4 blocks north to the Benson Hotel at Oak and Broadway.

4.  I just checked the 10 day forcast and it should be RAINFREE and in the mid 70's!  (Warning: often "no chance of rain" in a forcast changes to "periods of rain today" as soon as it starts raining!)
