We have a p[art time oral surgeon who set the standards for thew Calif.  departments.
 Ha claims he made his standardization based upon an article
"The permanent Mandibular Third Molar; Its value in age determination"
Journal of Forensic Odonto-Stomatology Vol.1 No 1 Jan. 1983.

Good afternoon ORADLISTers:

I have followed the discussion on the use of dental and hand/wrist
radiographs for age determination by immigration authorities.  I have issued
an addition charge to the AAOMR Radiology Practice Committee to research the
issue and develop a draft response for the March 2001 ad interim Executive
Council meeting in Chicago (or as soon thereafter as possible).

Just a note to keep all of you up to date.  The discussion has been most
interesting.
