Third molar cysts

Regarding attachment at the CEJ, all dentigerous cysts, no matter how large they become, should still remain attached at the CEJ. Lesions which are attached to the root in a more apical location generally are found to represent some other type of odontogenic pathosis at biopsy, I.E., adenomatoid odontogenic tumor.
