        Faculty Position in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

        University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine

        The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine is seeking
applicants for a full-time position in the Division of Oral and
Maxillofacial Radiology, Department of Oral Diagnosis, at the level of
Assistant or Associate Professor.  Major requirements include completion of
an advanced formal education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and
previous experience in the field. Eligibility for certification by the
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology or its equivalent is
required, and preference will be given to individuals who are already
certified by the Board or its equivalent. †Research training and experience
is highly desirable, and preference will be given to individuals with
existing extramurally funded research programs.

        The successful applicant will be expected to conduct substantial
research, which can be in †laboratory and/or translational science; this
will comprise the major responsibility. †Alignment of research interests
with one or more of the following institutional research strategic plan
areas is highly desirable: skeletal biology, cancer, neurosciences,
biomaterials and molecular medicine.  †Additionally, there will be teaching
responsibilities in the predoctoral and residency OMFR curricula.
†Intramural clinical practice is available and encouraged; there is an
extensive clinical OMFR practice, with opportunities in Medical Radiology
for CT, MRI and invasive procedures. †The applicant can either be licensed
through the Northeast Board of Dental Examiners, or intramurally through the
Connecticut State Dental Commission.

        This position is available September 1, 2000. †The search will be
