Film Quality

I understand from many GP's I speak to that they are not happy with newer High-Speed intra oral films. They prefer slower technology. My area of interest is Quality Assurance. I know that in many (Most) cases darkroom management has a huge impact. I compare High Speed and slower speed films myself and prefer the latter for contrast etc. Does anyone have any comments to help clear this up from a Diagnostic point of view. Obviously without getting into brand preference I see the following as a speed relationship:
Ultraspeed ...Slow
Agfa M2 ..... Medium
Ekta..... Fast
