Planmeca

Dear all,

We recently bought a Planmeca Prostyle Intra x-ray unit. It turns out
that the selection of different anatomic sites results in an automatic
adjustment of both kVp (60-70) and exposure time. Planmeca claims it
provides better images this way. Traditionally, the differences between
anatomic sites is only compensated for by exposure time adjustment.
Changing the kVp results in different subject contrast, which could be
useful for certain diagnostic tasks.

This may not have any significant practical implications, but I would
appreciate to have your thoughts on Planmeca's approach, whether you
have any experience with this machine, or with others that operate in
the same way.

Thanks for your response.

Andre
