Dear oradlisters,
I am sorry for being too casual in my request. Here we and the medical
imaging colleagues are trying to work closer together. There is a
mandatory course - Introduction to Dentistry, for the medical students.
We "advertise" our services to our medical colleagues, and they, from
all specialties in medicine, refer patients to us for our services and
advises.
The course is intended to be a team-work PBL one. I will work with
medical colleagues on the problems. In response to Dr. White's
suggestion, this is the preliminary list of topics for you to comment on
(most of them are from "Contemporary
maxillofacial Imaging" edited by Per-Lennart Westesson) :
CT assessment of dental implant planning
Three-dimensional imaging and model fabrication in oral and
maxillofacial imaging
*Diagnostic and interventional angiographic procedures in the
maxillofacial region
Imaging of cysts and benign odontogenic tumors of the jaw
*MRI and CT of malignant diseases of the jaws
Imaging of mandibular and TMJ fractures
Imaging of midfacial fractures
Panoramic radiography
Digital dental radiography
Conventional and computerized imaging of maxillary sinus pathology
ralated to dental problems
MRI of TMJ
*Imaging of inflammatory disorders of the maxillofacial region
*Chest imaging for dentists
*Neclear medicine
*Sonography
(*: will work closely with medical imaging colleagues)
Sincerely,
Curtis
