hi all -
wondering if any could lend some advice or reference material ...if you had a
crown lengthening procedure done on 2 teeth (2.5 yrs ago), #19 & #30, and
since that time your gum margin around these crowned teeth had become and
remained continously very painful & almost purple in color, even after re-
crowning these teeth w/different materials multiple times ... where would YOU
go to seek an expert opinion/treatment if you had been to every local dentist,
endodontist, peridontist, and out of town specialists to no avail??
i have already lost one of the 2 tooth teeth involved due to the persistence
of pain. treatments have ranged from multiple re-crownings(for allergy
possiblity), root canals, flouride treatments, crown tapering, diligent
flossing, etc.

i had just been generously informed online that the gingiva changes are termed
granulomatous or iatrogenic gingivitis and that another possiblity is a
reactive peripheral giant cell granuloma or pyogenic granuloma (non-neoplastic
reactive lesion)...and that either way, surgical recontouring of the area may
be beneficial.

i would desperately appreciate any replies as this is extremely important to
me. please respond to morla73672 at aol.com

thank you all for your attention & sorry for the intrusion !
