US thyroid doses from nuclear weapons testing

     The full report from the National Cancer Institute on thyroid doses to
     the US population from nuclear weapons testing 1950-70 is now posted
     on the NCI web site: http://www.nci.nih.gov.  Click on "what's new."

     I suggest first examining the summaries, maps, etc.  Do not go to the
     full text unless you are prepared to spend significant time there.

     I think you will find the map of thyroid doses by US county to be
     quite helpful in teaching radiation biology.  I have imported it to my
     graphics software and produced a very nice teaching slide.
