Soredex

I am looking up a digital equipament for my university and I am interested
in the Digora from Soredex.
However, this equipament has been  sold in Brazil for 27,000.00 dollars
since 1996.
I remember that the same equipament was sold for 14,000.00dollars in 1995,
when it first came to Brazil.
My question is:
        Has anybody bought this equipament  recently??For how much???/
Brazilian importation tax has not changed for the past two years. I wonder
if there is a explanation for such price.
To tell the truth, Digora in Brazil is more expensive than a up date
panoramic equipament. I could not come up with a reason.
Other question is:
        Is Digora worth 27,000.00 dollars????
As I do not have experience with digital equipament on my own I will be
gratefull for any advice.
