My paper with Clifton Simmons that I reported at AAOMR in Arlington is
now out in Cranio 15:281-295, October, 1997. We found, among other
things, no evidence for a statistically significant association
between a history of orthodontic treatment and later diagnosis of
internal derangement, as seen on MRI. This says nothing about TMJ
symptoms, only internal derangement, and does not prove absence of any
association. But it is suggestive.
