Marjorie Agosin is the Luella Lamer Slain Professor of Latin American Studies at Wellesley College.  She is an award winning poet and memoirist.  A dedicated human rights activist, she received the United Nations Leadership Award on Human Rights, and was awarded the Gabriela Mistral Medal of Honor for Lifetime Achievement by the Chilean government.  Her two most recent books are The Light of Desire (Swan Isle Press, 2009) and Secrets in the Sand (White Pine Press, 2006).
