The award-winning Interact Theatre Company will present a staged reading of Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler" tomorrow (Thusrday) night at 7:30 p.m. in Room 1457 of the UCLA Law School Building. The reading, directed by Anita Khanzadian, is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be available.

A related event, a seminar discussion of "Hedda Gabler," will take place a week from Saturday (November 5) from 10:30 - 12:30 in Room 2442 of the Law School. Participating in the seminar will be Robin Nordli, an 18-year veteran of the Oregon Shakespeare Company (Ashland), where she has played the role of Hedda among many other leading roles. There are only a few slots open in the seminar. If you'd like to register, please send me an e-mail asap. Students (graduate and undergraduate), faculty, and outsiders are all welcome, but registration is necessary. A pizza lunch will be provided after the seminar.

Nordli will also be giving a lecture next Thursday, November 3, on "Pleasures and Pitfalls of Playing Shakespeare's Women." It will be at 3:30 p.m. in Room 1430 of the Law School. It is free and open to all. No registration is required for the lecture.

The reading of "Hedda Gabler" tomorrow night is the latest in a series of plays read in the Law School dating back to 1999. The series is sponsored by the Center for the Liberal Arts and Free Institutions (CLAFI), the Law School, and Interact. Details on all the above events can be found at http://clafi.ucla.edu/events.
