J. Gordon Melton, Ph.D., is the director of the Institute for the Study
of American Religion (ISAR), a religious studies research facility based
in Santa Barbara, California. He is the author of numerous scholarly
articles and books in religious studies, including the Encyclopedia of
American Religions (8th edition, 2009), as well as the author of the
award-winning reference book, The Vampire Book: The Encyclopedia of the
Undead (3rd ed., 2010).

 

Angela Aleiss received her Ph.D. in film studies from Columbia
University and served as a correspondent for seven years for Religion
News Service.  She is a contributing writer for the forthcoming The
Vampire Book: The Encyclopedia of the Undead (3rd edition) and currently
teaches film and religion at UCLA Summer Sessions.
