Lavoura Arcaica (2001) is an inverse version of the parable of the prodigal son and is set in the context of a Lebanese family settled in Brazil. André (Selton Mello), the younger rebellious son, has run away from home in protest of his father's severity and old-fashioned ways and his mother's overbearing tenderness. Pedro (Leonardo Medeiros) is sent after him to convince him to return home.  Through André's memories we learn of all the circumstances leading up to his rupture with his family.
 In Portuguese with English subtitles. 



Parking is available in structure 3 (Sunset Blvd. and Hilgard Ave.) and can be purchased for $9.00 at the kiosk located at Wyton Ave. and Hilgard Ave. James Bridges Theater is in Melnitz Hall, which is just south of structure 3.
