Dear Humanities faculty, staff, and students,

The CDH Help Desk would like to extend this invitation and encourage
faculty, staff, and students to attend to learn what the UCLA Minimum
Standards for connectivity are about and how to safely and easily comply
with them:

Bruin Tech Seminar Series: Survivor's Guide to Security Standards: Don't
get kicked off UCLA's island!

Wednesday, July 11, 2007
1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Korn Hall Auditorium, Anderson School, UCLA
Los Angeles, CA 90095

Think of UCLA as a beautiful island filled with delightful technology
resources that are desired by some scary and malevolent 'outside
tribes'. In order to ensure that everything is safe and available for
Bruins, we need to make sure that you are accessing those resources in
accordance with minimum standards, or you WILL BE KICKED OFF THE ISLAND!
Your first task is to read the UCLA Minimum Security Standards document
[ http://www.adminvc.ucla.edu/appm/public/app_0401_0.html ]. If it makes
perfect sense, please take the time to immediately ensure that you are
in compliance. If the standards don't make complete sense or you're not
sure how to go about achieving full compliance, come to a free,
on-campus BruinTech seminar where we will provide definitions,
explanations, instructions, hints and answers!

Please join us for our Survivor's Guide seminar on Wednesday, July 11
from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Korn Hall Auditorium, Anderson
School. UCLA security and computer support experts will take you through
the standards with examples and explanations, and we will conclude with
a 30 minute Q&A to make sure you get your specific questions answered.
Refreshments will follow the seminar.

If you are not in complete compliance or have any doubts, don't miss
this wonderful opportunity to get the help you need. The seminar is free
to all UCLA faculty, staff and students, and family members may also
RSVP.

Please respond soon. The seminar will be open to the first 400
responses.

RSVP immediately at:
